NAD+ is prescribed to support steady energy, mental clarity, and overall wellness. This guide will walk you through how to inject NAD+ as well as tips for safety, storage, and FAQs.
Before You Begin
Here are a few important things to know before preparing your NAD+ injection.
Where to inject
NAD+ is injected into the fatty layer of the abdomen just beneath the skin. Choose an area on your stomach that is at least two inches away from the belly button. Rotate the spot you use each time to help prevent irritation. Avoid injecting into skin that is bruised, red, or tender.
Know your dose
Your Willow physician will prescribe your specific dose and frequency. Most patients take NAD+ three times per week. Make sure you are familiar with your dose before drawing up your medication.
Keep your medications separate
Store NAD+ and your GLP-1 medication in different parts of your refrigerator. We recommend keeping each medication in separate, clearly labeled resealable plastic bags. This helps prevent mix ups and makes it easier to stay organized.
NAD+ Injection Instructions: Step-by-Step
Here is a simple look at how to prepare and take your injection. If you are already giving yourself GLP-1 injections, the process for NAD+ will feel familiar.

Step 1: Gather supplies and wash your hands
Wash your hands thoroughly. Choose a clean, well lit surface and gather your supplies. You will need:
your NAD+ vial
a new sterile syringe and needle
alcohol wipes
a cotton pad or tissue
a sharps container
Step 2: Clean the top of the vial
Wipe the rubber top of the vial with an alcohol pad and let it air dry fully.
Step 3: Prep the syringe
Remove the syringe and needle caps without touching the needle.
Pull back the plunger to draw air into the syringe.
If the plunger feels stiff at first, gently move it up and down a few times to break the seal and make it easier to use.
Step 4: Draw up your dose
Insert the needle into the vial.
Turn the vial upside down and slowly pull back the plunger until you reach the correct amount.
Tap the syringe gently to release any air bubbles, then adjust the dose if needed.
Step 5: Inject into your abdomen
Choose a spot on your abdomen at least two inches away from your belly button. Clean it with an alcohol wipe and allow it to dry.
Pinch a small area of skin to create a fold.
Insert the needle into the skin at a 90-degree angle and press the plunger to administer the medication.
Step 6: Discard the syringe in a safe place
Remove the needle and place the used syringe into a puncture proof sharps container right away.
Important Safety & Storage Notes
NAD+ is typically injected three times a week unless your doctor provides different instructions.
Keep your medication stored in the refrigerator and place it in a different area from any GLP-1 medication you may be using. This helps prevent mix ups and keeps each treatment clearly organized.
Check the vial before each use. Do not inject NAD+ if the liquid looks cloudy, discolored, or expired.
Always use a new sterile needle and syringe for every dose. Avoid touching the needle or any area that has been cleaned with alcohol.
A puncture proof container such as a sharps container or a thick plastic bottle is the safest way to dispose of used needles.
